{"id":16116,"date":"2013-11-25T15:26:00","date_gmt":"2013-11-25T23:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/devwww.3cloudsolutions.com\/post\/overview-of-microsoft-capabilities-for-self-service-bi-users-2\/"},"modified":"2024-01-08T10:50:12","modified_gmt":"2024-01-08T18:50:12","slug":"overview-of-microsoft-capabilities-for-self-service-bi-users","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/3cloudsolutions.com\/resources\/overview-of-microsoft-capabilities-for-self-service-bi-users\/","title":{"rendered":"Overview of Microsoft Capabilities for Self-Service BI Users"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"hs-migrated-cms-post\">\n<p><span id=\"img-1385392217598\">As the previous article about Power Users in a Self-Service BI Initiative\u00a0discussed, there are multiple types of Self-Service BI with varying needs, abilities, and preferences.\u00a0 The Microsoft ecosystem has many capabilities for the creation of reports and dashboards, data models, data integration and cleansing, statistical analysis, predictive analytics, as well as analysis of geospatial, unstructured, and streaming data. <\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"img-1385390142293\"><\/span><br \/>\nAlthough different organizations will use terms different ways, the following image offers one way to categorize the types of Self-Service BI users:<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"img-1385389998825\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"img-1385390142293\" src=\"https:\/\/3cloudsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/powerusers_image2.png\" alt=\"Types of Power Users\" border=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>To build on that idea, the following table translates our different types of Self-Service BI users to the Microsoft tools they are likely to use and for what purpose.\u00a0 Note this table includes traditional Self-Service BI tools, plus a number of capabilities which are not commonly thought of in this manner.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"img-1385392100050\" src=\"\/\/cdn2.hubspot.net\/hub\/257922\/file-391222237-png\/images\/microsofttoolsbypurposeandtypeofuser_ssbi-resized-600.png\" alt=\"SSBI Tools By User and Purpose\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For additional relevance and comparison to the above, the following table lists Corporate BI tools as well.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"img-1385390142293\"><span id=\"img-1385391827423\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"img-1385392217598\" style=\"width: 364px;
